Originally conceived for concert hall Elbphilharmonie by Herzog & de Meuron architects, bench ELBE III is focussed on essential forms that allow for classic references. The removable seat, upholstered in Kvadrat’s fabric Basel, sits atop a frame made from powder-coated steel. Available in signal white, ELBE III is suitable for both private and public spaces.

Designer

EVA MARGUERRE + MARCEL BESAU

German born product designers Eva Marguerre and Marcel Besau live and work in Hamburg. In 2011, they founded the interdisciplinary Studio Besau-Marguerre, working in the fields of product and interior design, visual communication and editorial design. Their mutual design approach generates innovative concepts and products with experimental use of materials paired with striking colour combinations. During its young career, Studio Besau-Marguerre has received numerous prizes and has exhibited at renowned international exhibitions and trade fairs.

Daniel Schöning

After studying design at Hochschule für Gestaltung in Offenbach, Germany, and architecture at TU Darmstadt, Daniel Schöning was initially self-employed as an architect and later joined WRS ARCHITEKTEN UND STADTPLANER in Hamburg as managing partner. Since 2018 he is co-managing director of architecture practice PLY ATELIER which realises both interior and furniture design projects.

For Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Daniel Schöning developed furniture series ELBE together with Studio Besau Marguerre. The high table, side table and bench were specified for the foyers of the concert venue and are part of the e15 collection since 2017.
