M2L Furniture - M2L Spring 2011 Introductions
Fresh Modern Design From the ‘40s Until Now

(New York, NY – May 2011) For the past 20 years, M2L has been dedicated to bringing fresh contemporary design to the American market. After attending a bustling show in Milan, M2L is pleased to introduce new pieces from design heavyweights such as Artek, de Sede, Tecno and Walter Knoll. From an avant-garde mid-century modern lounge chair to a boomerang-inspired sofa, the new additions reinforce M2L’s position as a distinctive curator of modern furniture design.

Walter Knoll “Jaan Living” is a chic yet casual sectional couch designed by EOOS. The spacious leather surface of both sofa and récamière floats over the understated framework in a balanced harmony of lightness and weight. The boards underneath also provide a convenient place for storage or décor.

Artek “Domus” is a mid-century lounge chair that was ahead of its time. Designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara in 1946 for the public spaces of Domus Academia’s student housing, it was impossible to produce in the 1940s due to the chair’s large veneer seat/back crafted from one piece of wood. It is now being manufactured as it was originally designed, in birch or oak and with optional upholstering in leather or fabric.

de Sede “Boomerang” is a series of modern seating designed by Gordon Guillaumier. Inspired by the purist form of a boomerang, its slim, airy shape allows it to fit harmoniously into both contemporary and traditional environments. It features exquisite handcrafted details and gentle creasing on the leather that softens the chair’s austere lines. Available as an armchair or sofa in a variety of sizes.

Tecno “T 69” is an elegant and versatile round table designed by Osvaldo Borsani and Eugenio Gerli. First introduced in 1965, it exemplifies Tecno’s trademark of juxtaposing glossy and matte finishes. With a wide range of material and finish options, T 69 can easily be inserted into any architectural context.

Tecno “Modus” is a seating system designed by Piero Lissoni in 1972. It features a distinctive glossy nylon shell and is available as a four-legged stacking chair or clerical swivel chair on a 5-star polished aluminum base.
