An unique table design. This is a conversation piece which seamlessly integrates design with the practical needs of today. From the design alphabet ’XY’ refers to the legs. When viewed from the front, it appears to be an x, but from the side it looks like a y. A striking element of the tabletop is that it narrows towards the ends. This has a practical as well as aesthetic function. It gives the table its elegant look and also allows everyone at the table to see and be seen by everyone else.

Karel de Boer (Haringhuizen 1978) works under the designer name of karel. Karel received his training at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy and the Hoger Instituut voor de Schone Kunsten (Higher Institute for Fine Arts).
