Panton Coatstand

A classic furniture item. The Panton Coatstand has a timeless quality. First created in 1971, it now appears in a new edition, in homage to the work of the famous Danish designer. Its elegant, curved, hourglass shape is formed from powder-coated metal, which can be finished in a range of colours. For extra hanging space, order an additional set of four small coat hooks in a matching finish. When not in use, Panton has the presence of a fine sculpture. A design highlight for offices and entrance areas – and an absolute eye-catcher.

Designer

The varied, extensive creative work of Danish architect and designer Verner Panton is acknowledged as a major contribution to international design progress in the second half of the 20th century. In 1965 Thonet introduced Panton's S-Chair, the first cantilevered design using shaped, laminated wood. His work has always been notable for clarity of form, bold colors and innovative materials. Panton's designs included furniture, lamps, textiles, art objects and interior furnishing. In 1998 he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Danebrog Order from the Queen of Denmark for his life's work.
