Designed 2020

The wide variety of potential groups of sofas and other elements now also includes an elegant, finely proportioned armchair that is a perfect match for the ANDES range.

Andes is a new interpretation of classically elegant salon furniture – bearing all the hallmarks of a great Viennese tradition. The individual elements in this family can be positioned to spectacular effect,as required, to present a new face to the world. With a virtually limitless number of combinations possible, Andes’ personality adapts to its surroundings by offering countless individual configuration options – no matter which of the world’s cultural circles it is introduced to. Available in a choice of twoheights, the delicate metal structure gives the organically shaped cushions the appearance of floating.Perfectly handcrafted, the lines traced out by the dual piping bear the signature of Wittmann Möbelwerkstätten’s master craftsmanship. Maximum seating comfort comes courtesy of the feeling of gentle support delivered by Wittmann’s trademark intelligent use of a pocket-sprung core. Andes is ideally suited for playful combinations of different-sized elements, seating heights, low and high backrest cushions, and coloured seat cushions. Footstools and tables can be brought in to coalesce with the group configuration, or positioned independently to the side of the ensemble. In terms of covering options, a multiplicity of materials and colours create new and highly individualistic impressions – underscored by design details that only true handcraftsmanship can produce.

Designer

Luca Nichetto’s designs tell stories. They possess both a sensual profundity and a playful lightness. The designer’s ability to pull off this balancing act is written into his DNA: Nichetto grew up in Venice and today lives in Stockholm. Both these worlds, with all their cultural facets and contrasts, are imprinted on his creative output. Born on the island of Murano, he studied at the Art Institute of Venice and the University Institute of Architecture of Venice, and launched his career with his first commissions from the famous Salviati glass blowing factory. He set up a design office in Venice in 2006, and opened his Stockholm studio in 2011. Nichetto designs glassware and light fittings, furniture and textiles for Cassina, De Padova, Foscarini, Svenskt Tenn and many other manufacturers. He also creates window displays for French luxury goods brand Hermès. His work has won many awards and is exhibited all over the world.
