Cielo Stacking Chair

The Cielo Stacking Chair and The Cielo Stacking Armchair are light, versatile and comfortable designs by Sebastian Herkner. They're ready for indoor and outdoor use and a great choice to create inspired seating arrangements on a terrace or in the living room. Available in various colour combinations, the stackable chair can also add personality to dining areas of restaurants or hotels. Like the daybed and lounge chairs of the collection, the colours and look are inspired by Sebastian’s visits to Colombia. There, he not only immersed himself in the culture and beauty of the country, but also met the local Ames artisans and learned about their traditional weaving techniques.

Each armchair is made in Santa Marta, a city on the Caribbean coast of Colombia, by local craftspeople. They weave the PVC strings, which are made from recycled plastic, around a powder coated tubular steel frame. The weaving technique the artesanos and artesanas use is called Momposino, a traditional method known for intricate patterns. Just the preparation of all the materials takes ten days, while the production of each armchair takes three days
