Calle

The solid wood bench Calle consists of a contoured seat, two sides flushed with the seat and a support beam underneath. The top surface tapers toward the middle to allow comfortable sitting. The wood for the bench is 40 mm (1 5/8 in) thick, the seat consists of three boards.

Calle combines well with the table Ponte and is delivered in one piece. Bench Calle is from L 1600 mm (63 in) to 3000 mm (118 1/8 in) also available in European Walnut.

Designer

Born in Germany, Philipp Mainzer studied product design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, and architecture at the Architectural Association both in London. In 1995, Philipp Mainzer co-founded the modern furniture brand e15. Having established the progressive, enduring philosophy and unique branding of e15, he has received international awards for many of his designs, which are identifying icons for e15 and part of several permanent exhibitions in museums. Parallel to the creation of e15, Philipp Mainzer practiced architecture in New York and continues to do so since his return to Germany in 2001. He is a member of the executive committee of German Design Council and regularly gives lectures on architecture, design and branding. Philipp Mainzer is creative and managing director of e15 and his architecture office PHILIPP MAINZER OFFICE FOR ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN.
